Hendrick Announces 2019 Crew Chief Swap

Hendrick Motorsports announces that it will change the crew chief lineup for two of the organization’s four teams in 2019. After seven titles and 17 years together, Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus will be splitting up. Kevin Meendering will take over for Knaus atop the 48 team’s pit box in 2018. Knaus will move over to the 24 team with driver William Byron and Byron’s current crew chief, Darian Grubb, will move into a leadership role at Hendrick.

Leavine Family Racing Announces 2019 Plans

Leavine Family Racing announces it has signed Matt DiBenedetto to a two year contract and the team will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota starting in 2019. The move to Toyota also includes technical support from Joe Gibbs Racing. It will be a two year contract with Toyota with a third year option. In addition, the team announces that Regan Smith will drive for the team through the end of the season as replacement for Kasey Kahne.
