Ben Kennedy and the Local Motors Team Earn Top-10 Finish in the Lone Star State
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series traveled to Fort Worth, Texas this weekend for a NASCAR triple-header. Ben Kennedy and the Local Motors team turned in the 15th-fastest time during the first of two practice sessions on Thursday afternoon, and the third-fastest in final practice. Returning the following afternoon for knockout qualifying with single truck runs, the Daytona Beach, Florida native advanced to the final round to earn the ninth starting position for the WinStar World Casino and Resort 350. After taking the green flag under the lights of the 1.5-mile speedway, Kennedy found his hands full with a loose-handling Toyota Tundra and slipped back to the 14th position. While under green-flag conditions, crew chief Scott Zipadelli called Kennedy to pit road for service on laps 44 and 96. On both occasions the Local Motors pit crew quickly changed four tires and packed the machine with fuel. The sole yellow flag was displayed on lap 53 for debris. An air pressure adjustment during the first pit stop and the cooling track temperatures aided the balance of the No. 11 Local Motors Tundra, and Kennedy regained positions to finish ninth, his best finish to date at Texas Motor Speedway.

Ben Kennedy Quote:
"We had a fast Toyota Tundra this weekend. It was handling better at the end of the race, but we just started out a little too loose and the long green-flag runs made regaining more positions at the end little tough. I'm looking forward to next weekend at Phoenix (International Raceway). It'll be a busy one racing both the K&N (Series West) car and the Local Motors Tundra."
