NASCAR dropped the hammer on the Stewart-Haas Racing and Team Penske organizations after Sunday’s race at Phoenix Raceway. Both were infractions found after the conclusion of the Camping World 500 race.
Kevin Harvick has been docked 10 driver points, Stewart-Haas Racing docked 10 owner points, and more importantly crew chief Rodney Childers has been fined $25,000 and suspended for the next race. That event is this Sunday’s Auto Club 400 from the Auto Club Speedway.
The infraction found was violation of post-race general inspection measurements; failed the post-race rear wheel steer on the LIS.
Brad Keselowski has been docked 35 driver points, Team Penske docked 35 owner points, and crew chief Paul Wolfe has been fined $65,000 and suspended for the next three Cup Series events.
The issue for Keselowski’s car was track bar mount and supports; track bar slider assembly no approved.
Most likely both will appeal the ruling.
