J.D. Gibbs Passes Away

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) announced this morning that co-founder J.D. Gibbs has died after a four year battle with a degenerative neurological disease. He was 49 years old.

Gibbs was the oldest son of NFL Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, and acted as JGR president from 1997 to 2015. During that time span the team won four NASCAR Cup Series titles with Bobby Labonte (2000), Tony Stewart (2002 and 2005) and Kyle Busch (2015).
