Bobby Santos Subway Jalapeno 250 Race Preview

  • by Michael Metzger
  • July 6, 2012

Bobby Santos will get behind the wheel of the No. 36 Chevrolet for Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race (NNS). Santos will make his second Daytona International Speedway (DIS) start in the Subway Jalapeno 250 powered by Coca-Cola.

TBR AT DAYTONA – Ryan Truex made TBR’s first NNS start at DIS in February. Truex started in the 18th position and an accident ended the team’s day early. They finished in 31st place.

SANTOS AT DAYTONA – Santos made his DIS debut in February 2011. The Massachusetts native started in the 23rd spot and drove to a 17th-place finish, his best series finish. This weekend will mark Santos’ sixth start in the NNS.

MEET THE DRIVER – Blaney will join NNS drivers in an autograph session in the Sprint Fan Zone located in the infield at DIS. The autograph session will be held Friday, July 6 at 4:30 p.m.

CHASSIS NO. 501 – Santos will pilot chassis No. 501 in this weekend’s 250-mile event. Truex drove the chassis in February in the NNS event at DIS. The team bought the chassis from Red Bull Racing.

Bobby Santos on Daytona: “I’m thrilled to compete in the Nationwide series again. The Daytona race last year was a lot of fun. It was kind of a last minute deal, so I’m glad we’ll have some time to prepare for it this year. Tommy and Al have done a lot to help my career, and I appreciate them giving me this opportunity in the Nationwide Series.”
