History

Rick Hendrick founded All Star Racing in 1984 partnering with Harry Hyde, Raymond Beadle, and C.K. Spurlock. The team originally had hopes of fielding a car for Richard Petty, but the deal fell through and only Hyde stuck with the organization. It was re-branded Hendrick Motorsports and they have gone on to with 12 NASCAR Cup Series championships.

10/23/2019 – Hertz has extended its sponsorship of William Byron and the #24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet through the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season. They will sponsor Byron in four races during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. (Press Release)

10/17/2019 – Mountain Dew will sponsor Chase Elliott and the #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet at Martinsville (Press Release)

10/08/2019 – Amazon Echo Auto will partner with Nationwide Insurance to sponsor Alex Bowman and the #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet at Talladega (Press Release)

10/04/2019 – Ally Financial announced a three-year sponsorship extension on the deal it has in place through the 2020 season with Jimmie Johnson and the #48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. It is not clear whether Johnson will be the driver throughout the duration of the extension. (Press Release)

09/20/2019 – Cincinnati Inc signs a record 10-year agreement with Hendrick Motorsports that will begin in 2019 and go through the 2028 season. In addition to being an associate sponsor on all four of the organization’s teams, they will be the primary sponsor of Alex Bowman and the #88 Chevrolet at Dover in 2019 and two races in 2020. 09/19/2019 – Liberty University has signed an extension to sponsor William Byron and the #24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet for the 2020 and 2021 seasons (Press Release)

09/18/2019 – NASCAR has fined Greg Ives, crew chief for Alex Bowman and the #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, $10,000 for a lug nut not properly installed following the race at Las Vegas (Press Release)
